Cleaning out your closet

Do you have a ton of clothes in your closet that you never wear? I do! My rule is that if I have never worn it within 3 months of buying it (unless I'm saving it for something) then it's time to get rid of it. OR if you have only worn it once in the last year, it's time to go. OR if it's too big (because we don't want to grow bigger into our clothes we want to have the small ones to aspire to!)
Now obviously I have some dresses that I'm waiting to fit into, some clothes that I love but I never wear, and some that I just can't get rid of. BUT i have taken almost all of the clothes I don't want anymore to Plato's Closet. If you don't have a Plato's Closet near you, there are a ton of consignment shops that could be interested in your clothes. Obviously the other alternative is goodwill and as much as I love goodwill, I am a starving college student that needs money! And normally stores like Plato's Closet won't take every piece of clothing you take in so the rest of it can go to Goodwill.
I normally make out with around 30-60 dollars for a bag full of clothes I never wear. Love it!

Yeah, they really only take "what's in style" but I've tried to give very stylish and expensive things that they haven't taken. It's hit or miss but I would rather get money for my clothes than nothing at all.

I really love Plato's Closet. I went there often when I lived in Athens, GA. They didn't like the clothes I brought, but it's probably because I only tried one time. I did enjoy 'window shopping' there for entertainment. One time, I scored on an adorable navy blue dress with white stars and built in vest; it was only about $12. I'm sure it was orginally worth around $30. Thanks for the informative hub; I voted it up and useful!
